Referral Criteria

At Verto Living we provide supported accommodation in Coventry for vulnerable adults and people with multiple complex needs.

Before submitting a referral, please ensure the individual meets the criteria below.

Accommodation Area

We currently only offer placements within Coventry.

To be considered for accommodation, applicants must have a local connection to Coventry or the surrounding area. This may include:

  • Family or support networks in the area

  • Previous residency in Coventry

  • Existing involvement with local services or agencies

  • Employment, education, or ongoing treatment/support locally

  • A professional assessment identifying Coventry as the most appropriate area for support

Each referral is assessed individually, and evidence of local connection may be requested during the assessment process.

Benefits Eligibility

Applicants must be in receipt of:

  • Universal Credit, and/or

  • Other eligible benefits or financial support

As part of the assessment process, we require:

  • Proof of benefits/income

  • Valid photo ID

Unfortunately, we may be unable to proceed with referrals where this information cannot be provided.

Vulnerable Person

A vulnerable person is someone who is subject to behaviours, circumstances, or conditions that negatively impact their physical health, mental health, emotional wellbeing, or ability to safely manage day-to-day life.

This may include individuals who require additional support due to risk, instability, trauma, exploitation, or reduced independence.

Multiple Complex Needs

People referred into our service may experience multiple disadvantages or overlapping support needs. This can include two or more of the following:

  • Homelessness or housing instability

  • Substance misuse

  • Mental health difficulties

  • Domestic abuse or sexual exploitation

  • Contact with the criminal justice system

  • Poverty or financial hardship

  • Trauma

  • Physical ill-health or disability

  • Learning disabilities

  • Social isolation or lack of family/support networks

Please note:

  • Referrals are assessed on a case-by-case basis

  • We are unable to provide 24/7 staffed accommodation

  • All referrals are subject to risk assessment and suitability for the existing household environment

  • Providing accurate and detailed referral information helps us assess suitability more effectively
